Uber drivers to stop working after 9pm over alleged murder of their colleague

Some Uber drivers have served notice to withdraw their service after 9 pm following the alleged murder of their colleague.

Colleague online drivers of the deceased Okyere Boateng, after the court sitting on Thursday, December 30, 2021, made it known that, due safety reasons, they will cease work after 9pm each day until they are assured of their safety.

The District Court in Sekondi presided over her Lordyship Mrs.Catherine Obiri Addo has remanded 3 suspects into police custody.


The suspects who are all students have been charged by the police here Sekondi with robbery and murder, for burning to death a bolt driver who is also a Navy officer.


The Students Patrick Baidoo 18, Joseph Lord Nii Agyei 17 and Adulf Eshun 18 have confessed to steal the deceases vehicular but when he resisted the suspects poured fuel on him and burnt him to death.


The prosecutor Inspector. Jenner Acheampong prayed with the court to be given some time for further investigation.


The court upheld her plea and adjourned the case to the 14th of January 2022.
