TV3’s Portia Gabor arrives in US for 2018 International Visitor Leadership Program

Award winning journalist and TV3 news anchor Portia Gabor is in the United States of America for the 2018 International Visitor Leadership Program. Portia Gabor who is well-known for her stories highlighting issues of social concern with her recent road safety documentary “Dangerous Highways,” was selected to represent Ghana at this year’s program. The news anchor left Ghana on Friday March, 9 for the three-week US-based program which allows participants to observe aspects of America. The International Visitor Leadership Program is an extremely popular and competitive program which enhances understanding of the United States among current and future opinion leaders and policymakers. Throughout the program, participants observe aspects of American social, economic, political, cultural and educational institutions and practices through meetings, workshops, seminars, site visits, and home hospitality. Additionally, participants visit historic sites and scenic areas and attend cultural events. Each year, more than 4,400 visitors from around the world participate in the IVLP program, including Ghanaians. Since its inception, 260 Ghanaians have participated, some in individual programs and others in single-country, regional, or multi-regional group projects.   Source: editors.3news.com|Ghana
