TV3 leads the way as the first Ghanaian media house to reach 2 million followers on Twitter


TV3 Ghana’s official Twitter account reached a significant milestone on Monday as it surpassed 2 million followers.

The account, created in May 2014 as the social media arm of the free-to-air television network and a member of the leading media network Media General Ghana Ltd, has consistently provided informative, entertaining, and engaging content to its audience on the microblogging platform.

Despite the challenges faced during the rough second quarter of April 2023, when Twitter’s CEO, Elon Musk, removed the check marks from the profiles of users who used to receive them for free, including media organisations, celebrities, journalists, and politicians, TV3’s Twitter account continued to thrive and remained a trusted source of authentic and unbiased information.

The journey to achieving this significant milestone has not been without its obstacles. Since its early days, TV3 has worked diligently to establish its presence on Twitter, consistently delivering the best content to its followers. “The journey to building the number 1 media brand in Ghana has been a long and challenging one, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. This success is due to the hard work and dedication of our employees, as well as the support of our loyal viewers and listeners,” the General Manager of MG Digital said in a statement.

In an era dominated by digital misinformation and fake news, TV3’s social media team has demonstrated resilience and determination as they navigate the competitive landscape of breaking news. Despite the challenges faced, TV3 has remained steadfast in delivering accurate and timely information to its audience.
