SIC Insurance PLC has officially inaugurated a new Board of Directors with a renewed mandate to reposition the company as a market leader in Ghana’s insurance sector.
The swearing-in ceremony was held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the company’s Head Office, Nyemetei House in Accra.
The reconstituted 11-member board is chaired by Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament for Akatsi South and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
He was sworn in along with other board members by Her Ladyship Justice Afi Agbanu Kudonor of the High Court in Accra.

Board Members Include:
- Dr. Abena Nyarkoa Asomaning
- Mr. Daniel Amasah Kotey
- Major (rtd) Ben Donkor
- Hon. David Theophilus Dominic Vondee (MP, Twifo-Atii Morkwaa)
- Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Ntekuni (MP, Pru West)
The new board is composed of seasoned professionals with expertise in finance, insurance, public service, and corporate governance. Their collective mission is to spearhead SIC Insurance’s transformation, focusing on reclaiming its competitive edge and expanding market share.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Chairman Bernard Ahiafor expressed humility at the responsibility entrusted to them and pledged to deliver significant improvements in performance and profitability. He assured President John Dramani Mahama, shareholders, and the Ghanaian public of the board’s commitment to excellence and growth.
“We are committed to ensuring that SIC Insurance PLC experiences substantial growth in market share and profitability during our tenure,” Ahiafor stated.
In a key development, the board also confirmed Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng as the substantive Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC, after serving in an acting capacity.
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng welcomed the new board and highlighted the transition as a turning point for the company.
“This transition marks an important step in SIC PLC’s journey to regain market leadership. The incoming board brings renewed vision and strong governance that will further strengthen our performance,” he said.
