There is no doubt Daniel Amartey is the most disliked player by Chelsea after the unfortunate pennant throwing incident last Saturday.
Amartey was filmed throwing the Chelsea pennant given to Leicester ahead of the FA Cup final at Wembley over his shoulder in the dressing room during the Foxes’ celebrations after winning by a lone goal.
Leicester later apologised on behalf of the Ghanaian.
But it was evident on Tuesday night that Chelsea players were still aggrieved with Amartey’s actions when the two clubs met in the Premier League.
With Chelsea leading 2-1, a touchline melee ensued in the closing stages. Substitute Amartey made his way from his seat and onto the pitch to play the role of peacemaker.
However, some Chelsea players – including Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva – upon noticing Amartey confronted him. Silva was pictured pointing the finger at the Leicester defender during the melee, with his wife absolutely loving it.
Amartey was the only player booked by referee Mike Dean after the melee.
