Ziggy Narteyson has shared his experience working with the late actor Bob Santo. According to the actor, Bob Santo was a simple fellow despite his wealth of acting knowledge.
John Evans Kwadwo Bosompem was born in the 1940s and passed away in 2002 after battling jaundice. Professionally known as Santo or Bob Santo, he was a Ghanaian comedian and actor featured in movies speaking his native language Akan. He’ll be remembered for acting with his close compatriot, Abusua Panyin Judas.
In an exclusive interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong, when asked about a legendary actor he worked with, Ziggy Narteyson eulogized the late Bob Santo.
“It was very comfortable working with Santo. He was down to earth and easy to work with. I called him uncle, and he, in turn, always advised me to stop taking alcohol. We had a good time working together. We’ve lost a great personality,” he shared.
Ziggy added that when they started shooting with the late actor, someone in the movie industry attacked him for casting a ‘concert party actor’.
“I started with Santo. Someone criticized me for casting him because he was acting in Concert Party. Later, this same person wanted his contact from me. I told him to go look for his manager.”
