According to the family, the Area already has a paramount chief from Benso but plans are underway to enstool another person as paramount chief without the knowledge of the queen mother and elders. The demonstration ended with a petition to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and the police. They have vowed to resist any move to impose another paramount chief on them. Security was beefed up at the Tarkwa Traditional Council, where the petition was presented.
