Elon Musk reacts to Meta’s Facebook and Instagram outage

The founder, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SpaceX, Elon Musk has reacted to the outage of Meta’s Facebook and Instagram.

Musk’s counterpart social media platforms experienced a worldwide outage on March 5 with users unable to log back into their accounts after they were booted out of the system.

Meta’s spokesperson, Andy Stone took to X, formerly Twitter to admit the challenge and urged users it is being addressed.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.”

Reacting to the development, Elon Musk posted on X a cartoon photo of three penguins tagged with the logos of Meta’s Instagram, Facebook and Thread saluting another penguin tagged with an X logo.

According to meta’s website, there are more than 300,000 reports of outages for Facebook and about 40,000 reports for Instagram.

The outage is now amongst the top trends on X, formerly Twitter, with several users saying they had suddenly been logged out of the Meta-owned social media platforms.
