It was excitement galore last Sunday at the Junction Mall in Accra when Season 9 of Ghana’s leading and most popular television kids reality show, Talented Kidz, kickstarted with spectacular performances from the contestants.
In the next 13 weeks, 24 contestants made up of individuals and groups will be groomed to battle each other through weekly performances in a bid to be crowned the most talented kid(s) in the country for 2018.
A product of Ghana’s leading Television channel, TV3, Talented Kidz features children between the ages of seven and 12 and seeks to unearth great talents in children.A line-up of singers, rappers, dancers, instrumentalists and comedians among others make up the 24 contestants.They are Ashley Chuks, Double ‘M’, Hamdalla Zacharia, Hakeem Issah, Samuel Owusu, Okodie Band, Luta King Monarchs, Felix K. Christian and Peniel Dodoo.The rest are Gye Nyame, Nana 1, Cornelius Asante, Revelation Dancers, Future Leaders, Young Stars, First Fire, GH Acrobats, DJ Popoza, DJ Marf, Timothy Mensah, Juliana Yeboaah, Aristo Jokers, Smart Guys, and Nelissa Atiogbe, the Hairdresser.They will within the 13 weeks pitch their skills and grit until an individual or group is crowned the ultimate winner at the end of the competition.The launch attracted hundreds of excited young people and their parents to the Junction Mall for the first episode of the season at which they were thrilled with performances from this year’s contestants as well as winners from previous seasons.

The General Manager added that, over the past nine years, hundreds of participants across the country have mounted the Talented Kidz stage to share their talents with the rest of the country while they are taken through grooming and coaching from experienced hands.“I have had the pleasure of meeting our contestants and I have no doubt that this year’s competition will be one of the best we’ve ever had. I wish all our super talented contestants the best of luck and I want to encourage them to give off their best and to enjoy the journey” she urged.Naquel and the winner of Talented Kidz Season 8, DJ Switch captivated the audience with electrifying performances and mixes from her turntables to the admiration of the hundreds of people who thronged the Mall.

The show, which has become a family favourite, airs exclusively on TV3 every Sunday at 4:00PM.
