The newly-appointed head coach of the Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac has said his focus will be to qualify the Black starts to the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Speaking at his unveiling on Friday, September 24, he said “Our focus is on the world cup qualifications.”

“We have a lot of work today, we expect the players to be positive and trust me and give me their best. I know they can deliver,” he said.

Asked whether he was desperate for the Black Stars job he said that he said he was not desperate but was happy to have been approached.

 “I was not desperate but I feel happy.”

Rajevac has returned for his second spell, signing a one-year contract.

However, the contract will be extended to February 2023 if Black Stars qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

The Serbian will be paid a monthly salary of $30,000, the GFA said.
