Morocco are the first side to exit the 2018 FIFA World Cup after losing 0-1 to Portugal in their second Group B encounter. A Cristiano Ronaldo 4th minute header separated the two sides. The result puts Portugal in pole position of playing in the knock-out round with captain Cristiano Ronaldo extending his goal tally to four after just two games. The Atlas Lions, who lost 0-1 to Iran in their first game, lie bottom of the group without a point. Their next game, which will be against 2010 champions Spain will not count in their favour as even a win will not qualify them to the next stage. But the 1976 African champions gave a good account of themselves, shading possession over A Selecao das Quinas and completing more passes. Africa’s performance at this year’s world cup has not been impressive. Senegal remain the only side to have won after the first round of matches. Egypt with Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah back to form lost 1-3 to hosts Russia to place them on the brink of exit from the tournament. By Emmanuel Kwame Amoh|3news.com|Ghana ]]>
