Netherlands forward Memphis Depay once again showed his compassionate side as he paid a visit to the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind on Thursday.

When he arrived, students and staff greeted him warmly and enthusiastically, and the Atletico Madrid forward donated to the school.

Memphis, accompanied by popular UK-based Ghanaian barber Nicky Okyere, organised a special event for the school. They brought a team of 25 talented barbers who generously offered their services to the students and staff, providing free haircuts and stylish hair makeovers.

The school was buzzing with excitement and joy as the barbers expertly transformed the students’ appearances.

The former Barcelona player has been in Ghana since last week, marking his third visit to his father’s birthplace. He was in Ghana last year and has previously visited for philanthropic purposes.

Last year, Depay arrived in Ghana with fellow Dutch footballer Quincy Promes and had the opportunity to meet President Nana AKufo-Addo at Jubilee House, but this year he arrived with former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum shares a connection with Ghana through his former stepfather, who is Ghanaian. He was previously called Georginio Boateng.

Depay and Wijnaldum over the weekend were spotted at a local boxing gym in Accra, where Depay made a donation to support aspiring young boxers who dream of making it to the world stage.
