Ghanaian champions Medeama SC clinched a crucial first-leg advantage in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League by defeating Nigerian outfit Remo Stars.

The tightly contested match took place at the Cape Coast stadium on Sunday, ending in a 1-0 win for the Yellow and Mauves.

Medeama’s persistent efforts were rewarded in the 22nd minute when Jonathan Sowah found the back of the net, giving his team the much-needed lead. Despite their dominance, Medeama failed to extend their lead before half-time, as Remo Stars managed to hold their ground and maintain composure.
