The newly appointed CEO of Ghana Premier League club Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has said he is delighted to be given the position.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio, he said he is happy to lead the club.

“I was delighted when they gave me the nod because it’s a big club,” he noted

“I always say Kotoko is bigger than the NDC and NPP and even the GFA. It transcends a lot of borders so I was delighted but at the same time I felt relaxed because I know it is my time and I was chosen by God.”

In response to the rumours that he is a Hearts of Oak fanatic, he said it is false.

“It is not true, I have heard the rumours but they are all false. Currently, I’m the CEO of Kotoko and I’m going to do all I can to make Kotoko prosper.”

He added: “I have been managing Kotoko players since I was in my second year at Legon. I managed Francis Akwafo, Opoku Mahala, David Ofei and others, I have been supporting Kotoko for a long time. It dates back to the time Bantamahene was the Chairman.”

He added that he has gathered experience from all over the world and he is capable of doing the job.

Nana Yaw Amponsah also thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board and the fans for the support he has received so far.
