Until the 2016 elections, he was an ardent fan of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

But in 2016, Alex Mensah crossed carpets from the NDC to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Known in the showbiz circles as Lucky Mensah, the ace highlife musician composed a song ‘Ye Sesa Mu’ for the then flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The Ghanaian highlife musician explained he willingly composed the song for the NPP and was not contracted by the party to do so. He did a remix of his ‘Nana Y3ny3 wo D3n Ni’ song (campaign song) in 2016.

The ‘Come Back’ hitmaker is out again ahead of the December 2020 elections with another campaign song to support Akufo-Addo, dubbed ‘Anigyee Kasee’.

This Sunday, August 9, 2020 would be his turn on Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene as we delve into why musicians would bedevil themselves with politics and the impact it has had on their musical career.

Join the host, Nana Yaw Opare, as he poses questions that would either compel you or prevent you from voting for or against a particular political party or candidate.
