Black Stars striker Inaki Williams was on the scoresheet for Athletic Bilbao as they secured a crucial win over Osasuna in their second La Liga fixture of the season.

The team went into the game from the back of a defeat in their season opener against Real Madrid where they lost 2-0 at home.

However, they delivered a great performance which saw a masterclass from Inaki Williams alongside his brother Nico Williams who combined to give Bilbao the first goal.

Inaki Williams was found in the box with an expertly delivered cross from Nico as he quickly connected with his right foot beyond the reach of the goalkeeper in the 11th minute to give his team the lead.

The goal served as a boost to the team. Despite playing away from home, the Lions continued to mount pressure on the hosts and eventually got the desired result.

Bilbao would go on to double their lead thanks to another cross from Nico Williams which was directed into the net by Spanish forward Gorka Guruzeta on the 20th-minute mark.

With no extra goals, Athletic Bilbao settled for a 2-0 win to bounce back in the highly competitive competition.

Inaki Williams will be hoping to transfer his form to the Black Stars when they play in their final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier next month against the Central African Republic.

The 29-year-old is yet to score for the national team having switched nationality to Ghana from Spain ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
