Ashanti Gold SC returned to the Top 4 of the Ghana Premier League after holding Hearts of Oak to a goalless drawn game on Thursday, February 6. It was a Matchday 8 late fixture as the other matches had been played on Wednesday. Apart from the WAFA-Asante Kotoko game, which did not produce any goals, there were goals at all the other venues.

So, expectations were high as the two former champions locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium. But it was not to be as the two sides shared the spoils. Hearts found the back of the net in the second half, however, but Daniel Afriyie’s goal was ruled offside by referee Adaari Abdul Latif. The result sends the Phobians into the top half of the table while AshGold go past Kotoko on the log with a superior goal difference. Hearts’ next game will be in Dormaa in the Bono Region in a faceoff with Aduana Stars while Ashanti Gold will host Liberty Professionals in Obuasi on Sunday. By Emmanuel Kwame Amoh|3news.com|Ghana ]]>
