Heart of Lions FC have announced the departure of their coach, Fatawu Salifu, following a mutual agreement to part ways.

This move comes after the club’s poor performance in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, where they have failed to record a single victory, losing five and drawing eight out of 13 games.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Kpando-based club expressed gratitude to coach Salifu for his contributions to their promotion to the top flight after an eight-year hiatus.

“The club thanks coach Salifu Fatrawu for his role in ensuring its qualification to the Ghana Premier League. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” the statement read.

With only eight points, Heart of Lions currently occupy the bottom position in the league table. They will face Legon Cities in their next fixture.

Coach Salifu’s departure marks the third coaching casualty in the league this season, following the dismissal of Michael Osei by Bibiani Goldstars, who subsequently appointed Frimpong Manso as his replacement. Manso had earlier parted ways with Bofoakwa Tano.
