Accra Hearts of Oak eased past Techiman Eleven Wonders by two goals to nil in a game that was predicted to be one of the tougher tests for the Phobians this season. Umar Manaf and Victor Aidoo sealing the points for Kosta Papic’s side. After an excellent display against Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in a draw at the beginning of the season Eleven Wonders have found their recent trips to the capital much less enjoyable than many would have thought. This result adding to a loss to Inter Allies at this same stadium earlier in the season.
Kwame Opoku came up with the goods once again for Asante Kotoko as they came from a goal down to draw 1-1 away at WAFA.
The striker has now scored 6 goals in this campaign and Kotoko’s topscorer this season. The point leaves the Porcupine Warriors in 7th place 4 points behind the leaders with a game in hand.
Elsewhere King Faisal and Elmina Sharks played out a 1-1 draw while Great Olympics got off to a winning start under new head coach Yaw Preko beating Inter Allies by 2-0.
Liberty Professionals lost their unbeaten home record as a Moro Sumaila goal completed a 2-1 victory for Ebusua Dwarfs away at Liberty Professionals.
Ashanti Gold vs Medeama as well as Bechem United vs Dreams FC both ended in draws.
Aduana Stars also beat Legon Cities to bring up to 8th in the table.
This round of matches saw Karela United take back top spot on 17 points. They are closely followed by Ashanti Gold and Bechem United who both trail Karela by one point.
There is only three points between WAFA in 6th and Karela in first place. The bottom half of the table is shaping up nicely as well with just 4 points separating Legon Cities in 18th and Eleven Wonders in 12th position.
