Many were expecting Asante Kotoko to have an easy game and win on Match Day One just as they did in the truncated 2019/20 season but that did not happen.

Fans of the Porcupine Warriors will be fuming as they were clearly dominated by Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kwame Poku capitalized on an error by the Wonderss defence and scored but since then they were found wanting in many aspects.

Eleven Wonders pushed and equalised through supersub Prince Okraku.

Sure Wonders wanted more but failed to turn their chances into goals.

After seven games played, Matchweek One produced only one winner, WAFA.

Although there are two games remaining, it shows how tough this season is going to be.

Medeama vs Olympics was arguably the scoreline of the weekend. The Mauve and Yellows have been tipped to win the league and starting the season with a draw is not what they were hoping for.

Karela United, on the other hand, left Obuasi with smiles on the face. They took the lead in the fifth minute of the game through Diwiasie Taylor.

They got too comfortable for Ashgold captain Appiah Maccarthy to equalise through a free kick. AshGold took charge of the game and doubled their lead.

But not for long as Karela United took the opportunity when the chance arose and they got the equaliser. The game ended 2-2.

WAFA dominated in Sagakope as usual. They put four past King Faisal, who could have equalised but for the final whistle. It looked like they were staging a comeback as they managed to score 3 goals but the did not materialise. King Faisal left the Volta Region defeated.

Another talking point will be Ebusua Dwarfs goalkeeper Razak Issah. His side were losing 2-1 to Elmina Sharks when he stepped up to take a free-kick and scored. The two shared the spoils.

Twenty-one goals have been scored so far scored in Matchweek 1.

On Monday, Liberty Professionals welcome Bechem United at the Carl Reindorf Park and Inter Allies play Dreams FC.
