The Ghana Premier League resumed over the weekend, bringing excitement and surprises for fans.
While some smaller teams pulled off upsets against bigger clubs, table leaders Samartex continued their impressive run.
In their second season in the Premier League, Samartex have been dominating with 11 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses after 18 matches. They sit comfortably atop the league table, 5 points ahead of second-placed Aduana.
The team’s success can be attributed to their potent attack, which has scored 25 goals so far. Baba Musa, who joined the club from Skyy FC before the 2023/24 season, has been on fire with 8 goals.

Mohammed Shaban, a statistics expert on TV3’s Sports Station, praised Samartex’s consistency and form.
“They’ve impressed me the most among all the clubs. To challenge for the title in their second full season is truly remarkable, and I must commend them for that. Their form has been consistent, and they seem determined to go all out for the championship.”
Shaban also highlighted Great Olympics’ revival this season. After narrowly escaping relegation last term, the club have rebounded and currently sits in 10th place.
“Great Olympics were struggling for most of last season, but they’ve turned things around this time. The work their technical team has done with the squad is admirable.”
