The stage is set for an epic showdown between Ivory Coast and Nigeria in the final of the 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Sunday night.

The encounter promises to be an exhilarating climax to the competition, with both teams eager to clinch the coveted title.

In the previous meeting between the two sides during the group stages, Nigeria emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 victory.

However, much has changed for Ivory Coast since then, with Emerse Fae taking over as interim coach and leading the team on an upward trajectory.

The Elephants have gained significant momentum heading into the final, following impressive performances against top opponents.

On the other hand, Nigeria has been a force to reckon with throughout the tournament, largely thanks to the outstanding contributions of deputy captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili, and marksman Victor Osimhen.

The Super Eagles have repeatedly proven their resilience, overcoming challenges and adversity to reach their seventh AFCON final.

As the host nation, Ivory Coast hopes to capitalize on home advantage and make history by becoming the first team to win the competition without conceding a single goal.

Frank Kessie, Simon Adingra, and Sebastian Haller are expected to play key roles in the hosts’ quest for glory. Meanwhile, Nigeria will rely heavily on the talents of Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili to secure their third AFCON title.

Regardless of the outcome, fans can expect an electrifying contest between two evenly matched-teams.

The match kicks off at 8:00 pm local time, and it’s anyone’s guess who will lift the prestigious trophy come the end of the night.
