Asante Kotoko assistant coach David Ocloo maintains that the club is a work in progress, downplaying the pressure on the technical team following another setback in their pursuit of the Ghana Premier League title.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nsoatreman, extending their winless streak to six games. With five losses in their last six matches, speculation looms over the future of the technical team led by Prosper Ogum, despite public support from management.

While Kotoko experienced a challenging start to the season, they managed to rebound and ended the first round positively.

However, the second round has proven to be disastrous, with only one victory and a string of defeats to teams like Heart of Lions, Aduana, Nations FC, Aduana FC, and Accra Lions, with the latest loss occurring against Nsoatreman on Thursday.

Despite falling behind, Kotoko managed to equalise before conceding a late goal, marking their 10th league defeat of the season. The team’s position has plummeted to 10th in the standings, yet Ocloo remains resolute.

He remarked, “It is a work in progress, there is no pressure on us. We just have to go back and work hard, and try to turn things around.”

Kotoko’s upcoming fixture against Dreams FC may see them facing it under new coaching leadership, as pressure mounts from supporters for Ogum’s dismissal.

Ogum, who clinched the league title in his debut season, has lost rapport with the fans, with poor results further complicating his tenure.
