Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Ogum remains unfazed amid mounting pressure following the team’s recent string of poor results in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
With the Porcupine Warriors enduring a slump, losing four out of their last five matches and slipping to eighth place in the league standings after 22 games, scrutiny over Ogum’s future with the club has intensified.
Responding to critics, the former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) manager showcased his confidence in his coaching abilities, asserting his readiness to secure a new job locally or internationally should he depart Kotoko in the future.
Prosper Ogum emphasised his appeal to potential employers, highlighting his tactical prowess and track record in Ghanaian football.
“If I leave Kotoko next season, I can get a job locally and internationally,” Ogum remarked confidently on Kumasi-based Angel FM.
“In fact, before I came to Kotoko, I had a job abroad. I was going, but the great king (Otumfuo Osei Tutu II) told me not to go and to come and do the job here.”
The coach underscored his belief in his capabilities, expressing certainty in his prospects both within and beyond the Ghanaian football landscape.
Ogum’s current tenure with Asante Kotoko marks his second stint with the club, having previously guided them to Ghana Premier League glory in the 2021/22 season, ending an eight-year drought for the domestic league title.
