Vincent Sowah Odotei, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has voiced disappointment over the team’s underwhelming performance in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Speaking candidly, he acknowledged that the team’s results fell short of expectations, citing their early elimination from the Ghana FA Cup as further evidence of their struggles.

As the Phobians prepare to face Legon Cities in Dawu on Saturday, April 20, they find themselves positioned 10th in the league standings with 35 points.

Odotei expressed a sense of letdown, emphasising that Hearts of Oak possesses all the necessary components to be the most successful club in the nation.

“We feel let down. He told Citi TV, “Hearts of Oak has everything in place to be the most successful club in the nation when you look at us as a unit.

“We have the facilities, and I think everyone can agree that our preseason was excellent. To be honest, we are not happy with where we are, as our on-field results are disappointing when compared to the investment that we have made.” He concluded.

Reflecting on the season, Odotei highlighted the club’s excellent preseason and the investment made, indicating that the on-field results do not align with the resources at their disposal.

He underscored the disappointment felt by everyone associated with the club regarding their current standing.

Prior to their recent victory over Karela United, the Phobians endured a five-game winless streak under the leadership of Aboubakar Ouattara.

Despite the triumph, Odotei’s remarks underscore the need for introspection and improvement as Hearts of Oak aim to reclaim its status as a dominant force in Ghanaian football.
