As the 13th African Games in Ghana draws closer, the locations for various sports disciplines have been disclosed, adding to the anticipation for the upcoming event scheduled to run from March 8, 2024, to March 23, 2024.

Know all venues for the 13th African Games and the competitions that would be hosted at each venue;

The Borteyman Sports Complex will be a hub of various activities hosting Badminton, Handball, Weightlifting, Basketball Tennis and Fencing. It will also serve as the venue for Volleyball, Table, Tennis, Karate-do, Judo, Taekwondo, MMA, Wrestling, and Aquatic events like Swimming and Triathlon.

The University of Ghana, Legon Games Village will serve as the central Games Center. It will handle accreditation, transportation, and administrative matters. Additionally, it will host sports such as Armwrestling, Athletics (Track/Field), Squash, and Rugby.

Football enthusiasts can look forward to action at the University of Ghana Stadium, which will host Football, Athletics, and Triathlon. The Accra Sports Stadium and Cape Coast Stadium will be the venues for Male and Female Football, respectively.

Laboma Beach will witness the excitement of Beach Soccer and Beach Volley, while Bukom Boxing Arena hosts all Boxing events. Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium will be the venue for all Hockey games, and Alisa Hotel will provide the setting for Chess.

Cycling events would be carried out at Olebu while the Achimota Oval would host Cricket.

This edition of the African Games in Ghana is set to feature 30 sports disciplines, as outlined on the official website.

Here are the games to expect when the competition officially kicks off on March 8, 2024.

Olympic Qualifiers

Wrestling, Triathlon, Tennis, Table Tennis, Swimming, Cycling, Badminton, and Athletics.

Non-Olympic qualifiers

Weightlifting, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Rugby, Karate-Do, Judo, Hockey, Handball, Football, Cricket, Chess, Boxing, Beach Volleyball, Basketball (3X3), and Arm Wrestling.

Demonstration sports

E-Sports, Speedball, Scrabble, Sambo, Pickleball, and Mixed Martial Arts

As the countdown to the official kick-off continues, athletes, spectators, and sports enthusiasts eagerly await the spectacle that the 13th African Games in Ghana is poised to deliver.
