Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has drawn parallels between Abdul Aziz Issah and the legendary Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’, advocating for the inclusion of the young talent in the Black Stars squad.

The Dreams FC’s rising star has caught the attention of football enthusiasts and coaches alike having already made significant strides in his football career at age 18. His standout performances last season played a pivotal role in Dreams FC clinching the Ghana FA Cup, showcasing his remarkable talent and maturity on the field.

Notably, Issah’s impact has extended to the continental stage, where he continues to dazzle with his goal-scoring prowess and creative playmaking abilities in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The youngster’s performance goes beyond club football as he equally played an instrumental role in the Black Satellites’ gold medal triumph in the recently concluded 2023 African Games.

Karim Zito, recognising Issah’s exceptional talent, drew comparisons to Abedi Pele, a footballing icon revered in Ghana and beyond. Zito pointed out that Issah’s contributions at his age surpass those of Abedi Pele during his early years in the sport, advocating for his inclusion in the senior national team.

“Abedi Pele was brought to Aburi at the age of 17. So, if he is 18, Abedi did not play like this boy in playing at this level. If I were in Black Stars, I would call him. It’s long overdue,” remarked Zito as quoted by OnuaSports.

Despite the clamour for his inclusion in the national team, Issah remains focused on his current commitments with Dreams FC.

The Ghana FA Cup champions have embarked on a historic journey in the CAF Confederation Cup, becoming the first Ghanaian side to reach the knockout stage since 2004. Issah’s contributions have been instrumental in their success, with Dreams FC displaying resilience and determination on the continental stage.

As they gear up for the crucial second leg of the quarter-finals against Stade Malien, the “Still Believe lads,” are determined to maintain their lead and secure a place in the next round.

The match is set to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, with Issah and his teammates poised to continue their impressive campaign.
