Manchester United faced their second consecutive Premier League defeat at Old Trafford as Crystal Palace secured an impressive victory with Joachim Andersen’s stunning strike.

This match marked the second meeting between the two teams in just five days, with Erik ten Hag’s side previously winning 3-0 in the Carabao Cup.

However, this time, Palace presented a different challenge, having rested several first-team players during the midweek fixture. They put on a near-perfect away performance at Old Trafford.

Palace took the lead after Andersen’s remarkable first-time strike into the top corner following a free-kick. Despite Manchester United’s sustained pressure, they struggled to break through Palace’s defence. When they did, goalkeeper Sam Johnstone made crucial saves, denying Bruno Fernandes’ dipping effort and Rasmus Hojlund’s powerful header.

Although Manchester United kept pushing, they couldn’t find a breakthrough. This win moved Palace up to ninth place in the Premier League, while Manchester United dropped to 10th. This marks the worst start to a league season for Ten Hag’s side in 34 years, with four defeats in seven Premier League games.
