South Africa’s Luther Singh also missed the shortlist. The two youngsters will not be the only ones who may be in pain for missing out as some key players also failed to make the shortlist for the flagship award. Among these players are Guinea’s Naby Keita, Nigeria’s Victor Moses and Algeria’s Yacine Brahimi. The Confederation of African Football (Caf) named Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the finalists for the awards, scheduled to take place in Accra on January 4, 2018.
