Black Stars on Tuesday held their first training session in Kumasi ahead of their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The team, led by coach Chris Hughton, trained at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday, with 24 players participating in the session.

The training lasted for approximately an hour, during which the players were put through their paces. The team will continue to train at the same venue on Wednesday as they prepare for their opening match against Madagascar on Friday.

Ghana are hoping to top their qualifying group, which also includes Mali, Central African Republic, and Chad, to secure qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The Black Stars will face off against Madagascar on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium, before travelling to Moroni for their clash against Comoros on Tuesday. With a strong performance in these qualifiers, Ghana hope to secure a fifth World Cup ticket.
