Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed his intention to appeal the Accra High Court’s decision to order him to pay GHC 1 million in damages to journalist Anthony Sarfo.
The judgment was related to a malicious prosecution case stemming from allegations of extortion following a rape accusation involving Gyan.
Gyan expressed his dissatisfaction with the verdict, stating as quoted by 3xtra, “I will definitely appeal because it doesn’t make sense,” and added, “There is no way I should lose that case.”
He questioned the judge’s decision, suggesting a conspiracy and vowed to follow up on the matter.
Justice Ernest Owusu Dapaa found that the manager of Asamoah Gyan had set the malicious prosecution in motion, leading to the High Court’s ruling on Friday, December 8.
Anthony Sarfo, the journalist involved in the case, said he was thrilled with the judgment.
