Solomon Kotei calls for human resource audit at COCOBOD

 COCOBOD DEMO

General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, (ICU) Solomon Kotei, has called for a human resource auditing at the Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

According to Solomon kotei, who has lauded the president’s decision to sack the CEO of the company, many people have been working at COCOBOD without appointment letters for years.

His call follows Thursday’s directive of government terminating the appointment of the chief executive officer of the COCOBOD Dr. Stephen Opuni with immediate effect.

It is not clear if he has vacated his post as directed, but his official car, 3FM learnt, had been parked at the parking lot of COCOBOD for some days now.

Nonetheless, the General Secretary of ICU is optimistic Dr. Opuni’s dismissal is a step towards resolving the industrial unrest the latter’s office has created all these years.

‘‘We are not preview to the main reason why government took that decision but Dr. Opuni has done great harm to the industry. We have made a lot of calls against his administration but unfortunately we were not given the audience by the previous government. He created so many confusion and gave unnecessary transfers.

“He has really caused great harm to the human resource at COCOBOD. People are working without appointment letters while others have appointment letters without applying. We are strongly calling for the human resource audit at the COCOBOD,” Solomon kotei demanded.
