Ghanaian songwriter and rapper, Sherif Abdul Majeed with stage name Maccasio has bemoaned the costly nature involved in securing the Accra sports stadium for a concert.

Maccasio, a native of the Northern Region said while it is easy to acquire sponsors for his shows in Tamale, he finds it difficult to get sponsorship for a concert in Accra.

He said this adds up to the expensive costs involved in hosting a concert at the stadium.

According to him, all these factors makes it a daunting task to organise a concert at the Accra sports stadium.

“With the Accra Sports stadium, the challenge is the funds because if I am to organise concert at the Accra sports stadium the amount they are charging for the venue alone is huge. Most at times if I am doing show at Tamale I do get big time sponsors but Accra here it is difficult to get sponsors,” he told Naa Ashorkor on TV3’s New Day, February 7.

The rapper is however hopeful that soon he will host a concert at the Accra sports stadium.

Meanwhile, Maccasio has denied any disagreement and agitation with his northern affiliate, Fancy Gadam.

He explained that the remarks making rounds suggesting any ‘beef’ between the two are just mere rumours and fans’ own estimation of how best they are as artistes.

Maccasio stressed that Fancy Gadam “is just like a brother” and both are focused on promoting music in the Northern sector.

“Not really. That one is just from the fans…From my side, I do not see any beef because even when you look at the kind of music that I do, he is a singer and I am a rapper so I do not see any beef,” he said on TV3’s New Day on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
