Ghanaian Gospel group, Daughters of Glorious Jesus has cancelled its Glorious Praise event at Kwahu due to the death of one of its patrons.

The late Kwabena Kwakye was a cousin to the sisters of the group, Cynthia and Edna. He died in February this year after he was rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre when he unexpectedly fell ill at work.

The popular Oman FM presenter was a patron of the music trio and a family member to Cynthia Appiadu, the lead singer of the group.

Lead singer of the Group who disclosed this on TV3’s New Day on March 20, said the passing of Kwabena Kwakye was a “huge blow” to the group.

“We have canceled Kwahu. The reason is we are bereaved, we lost our gem in our family, Kwabena Kwakye. We were planning all this with him but unfortunately something happened so we nearly stopped the programme,” Cynthia Appiadu stated.
