Sister of famous YOLO actor Drogba, Hannah Mensah has disclosed the current condition of her brother’s ailment.

On Friday, March 8, the unfortunate news broke out about the actor diagnosed with a disease condition called Demyelination.

Demyelination is a disease condition that causes damage to the protective covering (myelin sheath) that surrounds nerve fibers in your brain, the nerves leading to the eyes (optic nerves) and spinal cord.

When the myelin sheath is damaged, nerve impulses slow or even stop, causing neurological problems.

The sad news was shared by colleague actor Jeffrey Nortey who appealed for support and financial assistance for John Bredu Peasah popularly known as Drogba.

Following the news, Hannah Mensah has shared the current condition and treatment processes for her brother, Drogba.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on March 11, Hannah said Drogba has not been well since the last season of the series.

She added that they visit the hospital for once every week for treatment. She also noted that they are currently awaiting a result of a test which had been flown outside Ghana for diagnosis.

“I think in his last season, if you can remember, he was not performing like he used to do in the previous season, he tried to act but could not. So, he has been in the house.

“Right now, we are in the hospital because of his eyes, he is having double vision with the right eye, and he’s having pain with it. We come once every week for treatment and medications prescribed.

“Last week, we came for the extraction of the fluid from his spine. And that is what we are waiting for the result. They said they have to take the test outside for more inquiries before we have the results out,” she stated.

Hannah says her brother remains weak and only able to undertake some actions with help. She appealed for support from the public to assist her brother to recover fully.

“In cash, in kind, in any way…a lot of people are calling, including a lot of doctors. People are calling with ideas. So we just pray that they have a solution,” she said.

She said the family is currently waiting for the test results from abroad for further actions.
