Ghanaian musician KiDi has debunked all comments concerning him having liver problems as he indicates that his contact in the medical world is related to undergoing therapy.

In an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3 NewDay, the Lynx Entertainment signee indicated that people misunderstood the concept behind his song, ‘I Lied’.

“Art is open to interpretation. I admit I did a song and said ‘If I show you my liver, you go take me to prayer’. That is open to interpretation but I actually never said I have a liver problem,” he mentioned.

According to him, the theme of the song addresses how people handle tough times they go through, adding that behind closed doors, these individuals break down in tears.

“The song is about the duality of life where people cry in the night because they are dealing with their own drama and wake up in the morning, put up a smile and go about their daily activities. That was the theme of the song,” he explained.

KiDi further mentioned that quite a number of people are in that category and each person has a unique way they deal with their drama.

“There are so many people that go through that and have to cope using different things. Some people cope with alcohol, drugs, sex and other different coping mechanisms. So I was just interpreting in that song at that moment that some people that cope with alcohol, if they show you their liver, you’ll take them to prayer for all the things they are going through,” he stated.

He continued, “People heard this and said ‘Kidi has a liver problem’.”

The ‘Odo’ hit maker revealed that he is undergoing therapy and sees a doctor every 6 months for a check up. However, his organs are doing just fine.

“I’ve seen a doctor but it’s not for physical health. I’m just going through therapy. I’m in constant communication with my doctor anyway. I think I have to go for a check up this month or next month. Every 6 months, I have to go do tests to make sure everything is fine. Internally, my organs are all correct; my heart, kidney and liver are intact,” he concluded.
