Legendary highlife musician and producer Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann, known in showbiz circles as C.K Mann, is confirmed dead. He died at the Ghana Ports and Habour Hospital in Takoradi at 7:00 am Tuesday. He was 83 years. CK Mann suffered a stroke December 2017 and was bedridden. The ‘Adwoa Yankey’ hitmaker had been in and out of hospital for the past four years. He left behind seven children. The legend musician was a member of the Kweku Oppong’s Kakaiku Band, after which he joined the Ocean Strings and subsequently led the band until 1965. He rose to fame in 1969 with the release his single “Edina Benya”. CK Mann has several awards to his credit and was awarded the Grand Medal of Ghana by John Agyekum Kufuor in 2006. He churned out a number of hits in his over four decades music career.
