Ghanaian actress, Haniya Rosemond Alade Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo is currently on a Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca after she converted to Islam in August 2022.
The actress had since documented her pilgrimage experience sharing her life-changing experience via social media with daily updates.
In her recent post about her Hajj pilgrimage, Haniya narrated how she nearly broke her arm in an attempt to touch the Kabaa.
Photos via her Instagram page show how she struggled among the crowd to touch the Kaaba.
She claimed she is now Hajia Haniya after touching the Kaaba.
“I nearly broke my arms just to touch the Kaaba. Yes I touched it I kissed the Black Kaaba with Determination hard work and the help of Allah I made it New Hajia in town (Hajia Haniya),” she wrote.

The Kaaba served as a sanctuary before Islam. It was constructed by Abraham (also known as Ibrahim) and his son Ismail, according to Islamic religion.
Islamic belief holds that anyone who touches the Black Stone will have their sins absorbed.
In the Islamic faith, touching the Kaaba is also a prerequisite for receiving the title of Hajia or Alhaji, respectively, for men and women.

In 2022 August, Akuapem Poloo converted to the Islamic Religion after declaring the shahada; thus declaring her belief in the heart and mind that there is only one God, and Prophet Muhammad is God’s human messenger.
In another post about her pilgrimage, Akuapem Poloo said “Oh yes Allah made this possible for me Umrah 2024 mission accomplished.”
