Talented Ghanaian-American writer/director, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour Jr took on the role of a director for Season 1 episode 8 of American historical drama television series, Shogun.

Episode 8 of one of the world’s most watched American drama series has been scheduled to be aired on April 9.

Osei Kuffour Jnr brings to the table his rich experience, knowledge and deep understanding of the Japanese culture having lived in Japan close to a decade.

The episode 8 marks a significant milestone and success of the series which is based on a 1975 novel with same title by James Clavell which was previously adapted into a 1980 miniseries.

The American historical drama television miniseries Shōgun was created by Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo.

Osei Kuffour Jnr’s feature debut, “Black Box,” received critical acclaim and established him as a skilled storyteller in the sci-fi thriller genre as part of the “Welcome to the Blumhouse” collection.

The series premiered with its first two episodes on February 27, 2024, on Hulu and FX, with new episodes of the 10-episode series then released weekly.
