Some celebrities have been spotted around the 37 lorry station as organisers ready for Day 2 of #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest.

Day 1 on Thursday, September 21 saw all who converged on the 37 bus terminal arrested and sent to various police cells dotted across the country’s capital.

They were all, however, released same day.

Organisers have yet again defied the police order as they have come back to march to the Jubilee House.

They had originally planned a three-day picketing at the seat of government but the Accra Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service filed an application at the High Court to stop the protest.

There was, however, a back-and-forth between the Command and the organisers as the latter claimed they had not been served any application.

The police, in a last-minute warning, indicated that the application was served Atuguba & Associates, lawyers of Democracy Hub, on Tuesday, September 19.

They, therefore, called the demonstration “unlawful”, urging the general public not to join.

But the about 50 who turned up to demonstrate were all picked up.

On Friday, aside the organisers, some celebrities such as Efia Odo, EL and Kelvynboy are at the converging point to join the protest.

“Even when those institutions that are supposed to protect our democracy have been co-opted and corrupted, we must show up because the streets belong to the people and the ability to corrupt the streets is far limited,” one of the conveners, Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor, told journalists.
