A Brazilian model, Patrick Marcelino, whose pictures were released and splashed on social media as being that of the internationally acclaimed controversial investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, says his career is now being threatened. Marcelino, also a musician-cum-cinematographer told TV3 Wednesday that is he is on the verge of losing some endorsement deals due to claims that he is Anas, whose latest work, #Number12 has revealed deep-seated corruption in Ghana’s football. “I have been the face of many brands for a while, and at this point, I am at the verge of being the face of an international beer brand and many other things coming up, and this is kind of jeopardizing that because companies can pull themselves back now,” Patrick Marcelino told Bright Nana Amfo in a Skype interview on New Day magazine show. “They can now say, you are affiliated with all kinds of political situations so we have to pull ourselves back and you cannot be the face anymore,” he expressed. He stated that he has never been to Ghana before, noting the whole episode came as a surprise to him when he started getting calls and messages of what was going on. Earlier, he issued a disclaimer on social media stating the images were his but he was not the Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas. Patrick has released a video earlier which made rounds on social media where he denied being Anas. “I have always wanted to come to Africa, build a family and teach the youth my skills and my expertise, but at this point, hearing whatever was going on, it made me feel like, is it still safe for me to go to Ghana or not?” Marcelino said he fears people may do something to harm him should he come to Ghana because they think may think he is Anas Aremeyaw Anas. He said he has spoken to his legal advisors to investigate the issue involving the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, who allegedly released his pictures as being that of Anas. “At this point I have put a team of lawyers together from Holland, New York and Ghana, and they are investigating what the situation really is. At the end of the day even though the word is that it is Kennedy Agyapong who is putting this out I still need to investigate because people cannot be accused falsely,” he said. Beyond that, he said he has an artiste in Ghana who has also been keeping him up to date on the developments. By Irene Amesimeku| 3news.com|Ghana]]>
