The Special guest at the 25th edition of Harvest Praise, Ron Kenoly, has hinted at plans to naturalize as a Ghanaian citizen.
He made these fresh revelations when he performed to a crowd of over 4,000 Christians at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA)
Speaking to 3 Entertainment on the side of the annual event organised by the Harvest International Ministries, the American worship leader revealed his intentions to acquire a residence permit and become a Ghanaian citizen.
“My purpose of being here is to become a resident of Ghana and eventually become a citizen of Ghana,” he told 3 Entertainment.
“For the last week, I’ve been filling out forms and documents to gain residency and eventually to be your brother, a Ghanaian citizen”
Detailing his reasons for making the move back to his ancestral home, Kenoly said “I believe that Ghana is one of the welcoming nations in terms of people and social situations. It is most welcoming to those people who have experienced the Diaspora”
“My ancestors came from these parts of Africa to go to America and so now we are returning ”
Kenoly who first visited Ghana some 26 years ago in 1997 discovered his ancestry and traced his roots to Elmina in the Central Region.
Since then he’s visited Ghana a number of times including a 2011 trip that saw him headline the Adom Praiz concert along with a select group of local gospel acts.
2013 saw him return as he shared the stage with Ohemaa Mercy, Joe Mettle, Eugene Zutah and Sonnie Badu at the African worship with Sonnie Badu.
He is known for timeless songs including ‘Be Glorified’, ‘Ancient of Days’, ‘For The Lord Is Good’, ‘Anointing Fall on Me’, among others.
