RS Berkane beat Pyramids FC to win first continental title

Moroccan side Renaissance Sportive de Berkane beat Pyramids FC 1-0 in the final of the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup to win their first continental trophy on Sunday evening.

In an empty Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Issoufou Dayo scored the only goal of the game for RS Berkane as early as the 15th minutes. The 29-year old scored from close range from a spectacular free-kick.

RS Berkane were reduced to ten men after El Helali was shown the exit after going into challenge.

Big-spenders Pyramids created some decent chances in search of the equalizer including Haamdi Lachir and Mohammed Farouk’s efforts.

Despite not winning the Moroccan top-flight league before, RS Berkane will play in the 2020-21 African Super Cup with the winner of the CAF Champions League.
