Partey commends GFA for healthy competition in Black Stars

Arsenal’s new signing Thomas Partey in a conversation with the Communications Department of the Ghana Football Association  (GFA) has stated that he is happy with the level of competition in the Black Stars team at the moment.

Partey joined up with the team on Wednesday after sealing a deal with Arsenal.

We are having a good competition in the team; all the guys are training well.

“I think this will help the team to improve, everyone will be on their feet trying to win the heart of the Coach and also give more pressure on those that think that they are comfortable, it will energize them to be on their toes to fight to maintain their place in the team.”

The midfielder, who has 27 caps to his name, believes the quality of the Black Stars is immense but all of it will mean nothing if they do not deliver on the field.

Partey says delivering on the pitch is the surest way to hit the right notes.

“I am very happy; we have a lot of quality players in the team,” he said.

“There are so many Ghanaian players out there who are good but not all of us can be here.  Fortunately, we are here because we won the heart of the Coach. And I think it’s a good place to show what we have.”

The Black Stars will face Mali on Friday, October 9 and Qatar on Monday, October 12.
