President Nana Akufo-Addo invited you to partner with him to lead the affairs of this nation towards socio-economic development and you are duty-bound to take responsibility for your stewardship.

If you’re just a mate, as you claimed, then what would the many ministers and other appointees say?

Leading Ghana is a serious business which calls for true accountability for stewardship and true service to the nation.

Moreover,  if you must be “just a mate “it is very important to note that the driver expected a worthy mate to conduct and manage the affairs of the passengers and be accountable.

Should we say the appointees are the passengers or the citizenry? There is a critical leadership disconnect here.

Mr Mate, do you want to shift blame to the Driver? I don’t think that is just.  Who is responsible for fuel, maintenance and other strategic roles in making sure the vehicle is safe as well as its passengers and the environment?

For a number two citizen with serious leadership expectations and acclaimed expert power in the maintenance of the health of the vehicle (the economy of Ghana) to speak in that manner is not only unfortunate but very disappointing.  Ghana deserves better leadership to champion the affairs of the state.

To the best of my understanding,  the President of Ghana reappointed you as his co-pilot not to serve as a mate as you pontificated. Creating your own benchmark and metrics to record success and high ratings solely for your leadership has completely collapsed the leadership values you stand for and I believe your boss in his heart will be highly disappointed.

How do you expect Ghanaians to accept everything bad in Ghana to be on your colleagues and seniors without you after all the empowerment you had? You don’t need a leadership expert or analyst to see the level of trust the President invested in you and can’t simply run away from that and start telling Ghanaians new stories and speeches.

The economy is in a very terrible shape and you can’t shift the blame, Mr. Vice President. It’s very, very very difficult for an average Ghanaian at this moment in our history and to be very mindful of that.

The era of ICT (digitization)and the new media is a subject for a different day. However,  it’s necessary to underscore the fact that, the evolution started with a solid telecommunications infrastructure over time, including the latest investments in the Accra Digital Centre, Rural Fibre Network, Metro Fibre Network and many others championed by President Mahama.
