File
Some parts of the country’s capital city Accra were flooded on Thursday night after a downpour which lasted for almost an hour. www.editors.3news.com gathers the Olusegun Obasanjo Highway was flooded with most road users unable to ply the stretch. Mallam Junction on the Accra-Cape Coast highway was also flooded though the road was slightly motorable. Portions of the Atomic Junction overhead on the Legon-Madina highway were also filled with water. Motorists travelling to Haatso/Dome found it difficult to ply the road as it was flooded. April marks the beginning of the rainy season in Ghana and meteorologists have predicted heavier rains this year. Most residents in Accra have raised their voices against city authorities’ ‘plans’ as each year the capital city gets flooded due to the rains.
