Nzemahene fetes the aged; advises against their neglect

nzemahene2 The Chief of Agric Nzema, Nana Nkansah Boadu, has organized a New Year party for the aged in the Wiamoase community and its environs. Over 600 elderly women, drawn from Wiamoase, Bipoa, Agric Nzema area were treated to both traditional and gospel music, and provided with assorted food and drinks. In addition, they were each presented with rice, oil, cloth and cash. About 200 children were also served with cooked food, pastries and drinks. In an address, the chief of Agric Nzema, Nana Nkansah Boadu called on all to treat the aged with respect as they worked very hard in their productive years to raise their children and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. nzemahene Support for the aged The chief noted that instead of being supported and respected, elderly women are rather neglected by their own families and communities they live in. He said it was a blessing to show compassion to the aged and the less privileged in society and called on members of the public to treat the aged well.
