One of the two key suspects in the acid attack on New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman in the Upper East Region is a direct brother of National Chairman Paul Afoko, reports say.
The two are said to have sprinkled acid on Adams Mahama – who has since lost his life – on Wednesday night upon return from work.
The name of the arrested suspect was given as Gregory Afoko.
The other is at large, TV3 has been told.
Security has been beefed up in the Region, following last night’s incident, which is believed to have been instigated by the prevention of NPP’s National Chairman and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong from holding a meeting with regional executives last week.
