Member of Parliament-elect for Talensi Constituency Benson Tongo Baba is scheduled to be sworn in on Tuesday, July 14 as the latest member of the Sixth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

He will be sworn in by Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho.

The former President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) last Tuesday emerged winner of a by-election held in his constituency.

The by-election was instanced by the resignation of New Patriotic Party’s Robert Nachinab Mosore, who has ascended the paramountcy of the Tongo traditional area.

Mr Baba, a former senior prisons officer, emerged victorious in the by-election after polling 10,366 of the total valid votes cast.

He is expected to be taken through a rigorous orientation after Tuesday’s swearing-in.
