Residents of Ogome, a suburb of Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana, have been thrown into a state of horror as they have experienced two incidents of robbery in less than two weeks.

In the latest incident, the robbers numbering four and including a lady attacked a fuel station, GASO oil company located at Ogome and a Mobile Money vendor close by, making away with an undisclosed amount of money and ¢28,000 from the MoMo vendor, who was just 200metres away.

The robbery attack is said to have occurred at 7:00pm on Monday, October 23 and has surprised residents and customers at Somanya.

They claim they have been experiencing series of robbery on the roads leading to the town from Dodowa and Adukrom, little did they know that they will experience the Rambo style robbery close to the township.

An eyewitness said the whole incident took just eight minutes and in an attempt to escape with their booty, the robbers fired series of shots with their pump action gun to scare away residents or anyone who tried to come close.

In the process, they shot the pump attendant and three others. One is in critical condition at the District Hospital at Komeshie while the other victims were rushed to the Somanya Polyclinic and have since been treated and discharged.

There are no CCTV cameras at the filling station to provide extra information about the incident to police.

The police in the Yilo Krobo municipality do not have any proper logistics (pick-up or motor bikes) to enhance their patrol on the main road and within the township.
